James Slattery Selected as Best Lawyer in Baltimore and Washington, DC for 2012

With over 40 years of intellectual property law experience, Mr. Slattery provides favorable, result-oriented services. He is experienced in mechanical patent practice, trademarks, copyrights, litigation and dispute resolution. He has lectured extensively on these topics in the United States and around the world, and has participated in patent, trademark and copyright litigations before Federal and State Courts. Prior to joining BSKB, Mr. Slattery was a Patent Examiner at the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office.
Mr. Slattery is active in a number of intellectual property organizations and has held many leadership positions. His memberships include the Virginia State Bar (Member, Board of Directors, 1983-1986 and Chairman, 1989-1990, Intellectual Property Law Section); Patent Lawyers Club of Washington, D.C. (President, 1985-1986); American Intellectual Property Law Association; International Trademark Association; Association Internationale pour la Protection de la Propriété Intellectuelle (Vice President, U.S. Group, 2006-2008; Treasurer, U.S. Group, 1999-2006).
Mr. Slattery has also assisted the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) with several training programs, and in 2000, WIPO honored Mr. Slattery with a special award for his work with the World Wide Academy Advisory Board, which is in charge of ongoing training programs regarding International Patent, Trademark and Copyright treaties administered by WIPO. In 2011, he was chosen as a Consultant to WIPO because of his expertise on Madrid Protocol matters and his extensive experience in the field of intellectual property.
