What’s a Bootcamp?

A “bootcamp” can be defined as an intensive training program for improving one’s skills in a particular subject area. The Annual Post Grant Bootcamp (PGB) will start with a brief overview of post grant issues and will then take an in-depth look at post grant procedures and specific topics. Current developments will also be discussed.

Patent Office Trials

  • Inter Partes Review (IPR)
  • Post-Grant Review (PGR)
  • Differences between the PTAB and District Court litigation
  • Estoppel, real party in interest, discovery and filing deadlines, making amendments and appeal options
  • Ethics

Other Post Grant Procedures

  • Certificates of Correction
  • Reexamination and Supplemental Examination
  • Reissue Applications

CLE Credit Available

Estimated 12 hours of Virginia CLE credit available, including 1 hour of ethics (subject to approval of the specific state). Participants can use the Virginia credit approval form to apply for credit in their respective states.

General Information

Lectures are held at the Falls Church, Virginia offices of BSKB, in the metropolitan Washington, DC area. The seminar will start at 9:30 a.m. and end at approximately 5:00 p.m, daily. Detailed presentation materials will be issued before the start of the seminar. Class schedules can be found on our seminar website.

Lunch will be provided on-site each day. In addition, complimentary dinners will also be available for those who are interested, at no additional cost.

The registration deadline is June 9, 2023. Preference in registration will be given to BSKB clients and prospective clients. The cost for the 2023 PGB Seminar is $799* USD. This includes all lecture materials, lunch and dinner. Discounts for in-house counsel are available. Inquire with for the discount rate.

*We note that the last two days of the Summer Patent Seminar, June 29 and 30, include the Post Grant Bootcamp. If you have already registered for the Summer Patent Seminar, no additional registration is required for the Post Grant Bootcamp.
