Seminar

BSKB held its
annual U.S. Trademark Practice Seminar from April 1-6, 2007. This seminar addresses all aspects of
trademark practice before the United
States Patent and Trademark Office
("USPTO") and the courts, including the preparation of trademark applications,
practice before the Trademark Trial
and Appeal Board, licensing, inter partes
matters including opposition and cancellation proceedings, and the enforcement of
trademark rights in the federal and state courts.
The 2007 Seminar
hosted one of
our largest classes to date. The class of 2007 included 22 participants
from seven countries: Brazil, China, Japan, Korea, Sweden, Switzerland, and the
United States.
In addition to the
academic experience, BSKB strives to help our foreign participants
enjoy, appreciate
and experience the American way of life and culture and our U.S.
participants are
afforded
the opportunity to explore not only that which
Washington, DC has to offer, but also take the opportunity to learn
about the other cultures represented by our foreign participants. Many
friendships and business relationships are made during the course of the program and last long
after the program concludes.
To
encourage those relationships, BSKB arranges for several evening activities throughout the
course of the program from our "getting to know one another" opening
reception to our closing banquet and graduation ceremony and numerous
activities in between.
The 2008 Trademark Practice Seminar will be
held April 6 to 11. This year's
program brochure and
registration form
are posted here.
