Seminars & Training > Summer Training Program

For 25 years, BSKB has offered its Summer Training Program (STP) which provides lectures and instruction in all aspects of U.S. Patent Law. Topics range from patent prosecution to litigation, and including interference practice. This one-month program focuses primarily on practical problems encountered in obtaining and enforcing patents.

Our 2007 Seminar hosted 64 participants from six countries: Australia, China, Japan, Korea, Germany, and Taiwan.

In addition to the academic experience, BSKB strives to help our participants enjoy, appreciate and experience the American way of life and culture. Our participants are afforded the opportunity to explore Washington, DC as well as rural America during a weekend trip to a mountain resort. We encourage our participants to take the opportunity to learn about the other cultures represented among our STP participants. Many friendships and business relationships are made during the course of the program and which last long after the program concludes.

To encourage those relationships, BSKB arranges for several activities throughout the course of the program. These activities include an opening "getting to know you" reception and a closing banquet with a graduation ceremony, as well as a fishing trip, baseball game, and a weekend retreat in the beautiful mountains of western Maryland, among other activities.

The 2008 Summer Training Program will be held

14 June - 11 July 2008. The 2008 program brochure and registration form are posted here.
