& Training One
of our primary goals is to help our clients understand the many aspects of intellectual
property law and practice. Our interest in sharing our knowledge includes our commitment
to a series of annual training programs, as well as in-house presentations and speaking
engagements at various conferences and seminars. BSKB currently offers four annual
training programs:
:: The Summer Training Program is
a month-long series of lectures and instruction on all areas of U.S. patent law designed
to provide attorneys with practical training for obtaining and enforcing patents within
the United States.
:: The Advanced Patent and Licensing Seminar
is a two-week seminar offered in the fall that focuses on advanced concepts in licensing,
claim interpretation and validity, and infringement issues.
:: The U.S. Trademark Practice Seminar
is designed to provide attendees with practical information ranging from choosing a
trademark to litigating complex trademark infringement actions.
:: Our attorneys provide In-House
Presentations to company scientific and legal staffs designed to meet specific
client needs and interests.
:: Individual BSKB members
are deeply involved in various domestic and international IP groups and are often invited
to make presentations on a variety of timely topics. Samples of those presentations can be
found in the biographies of these individuals on this website.
Hundreds of individuals have attended our
annual programs and seminars. And although these programs and seminars are designed to
educate and inform, we have also been able to develop valuable personal and professional
relationships with our clients at these meetings. This helps us to better understand their
needs.
In addition to our annual training programs,
we offer weekly luncheon lectures and other program events for our clients and attorneys
to discuss recent developments in the law and to broaden our perspectives on the latest
issues in intellectual property practice.
We also publish a periodic newsletter focused
on patent and trademark issues for our clients as well as an electronic newsletter on
recent legal developments and practical tips for both established and start-up companies.
