Research

The law librarian at BSKB provides a range of library services on intellectual property and other legal topics, including:

  • Reference and research
  • Document retrieval
  • Patent searches
  • Computer subject searches
  • Interlibrary loans

The librarian is able to obtain a broad range of legal, business, and technical information through a variety of information sources, including:

  • Lexis
  • Westlaw
  • HeinOnline
  • Questel.Orbit
  • Dialog
  • STN
  • BNA's IP Library on the Web
  • USPTO databases

We also use Hosed Patent Documents, Questel, KIPRIS, and the Japanese Patent Office website to obtain full-text patent documents with English abstracts.

We order scientific articles online for our legal staff and clients from the British Library, CISTI, IEEE, Elsevier, sciencedirect.com, and blackwellsynergy.com.

We track court dockets using PACER and Courtlink. Additionally, for a small fee we can provide company profiles, market profiles, and industry profiles through LexisNexis atVantage.
The titles in our collection are available for interlibrary loan upon request. To submit such a request, please submit the following library research request form to our law librarian, Mary Ann Becker.
