• Patent Engineer at Birch, Stewart, Kolasch & Birch, LLP since 2006. Supports patent prosecution in the area of organic and inorganic chemistry, biochemistry, chemical engineering, pharmaceuticals, biology and biotechnology. Analyzes patentability, infringement and validity issues and drafts opinion letters, conducts legal research, assists with all aspects of patent interference practice, and prepares reexamination and reissue applications.
• Patent Examiner, USPTO, 1999-2003. Assigned to Art Unit 1765 (semiconductor manufacturing via chemical processes), researched relevant technologies, applied technical and legal analysis to determine patentability of inventions, drafted Office Actions, and conducted Examiner Interviews.
• Project Engineer, Amoco Company, 1997-1998. Managed optimization and troubleshooting projects for the company's largest U.S. oil refinery.
• Process Engineer, Abbott Laboratories, 1996. Supervised the installation of Abbott's first pilot plant in Puerto Rico, managed material and equipment procurement, and developed engineering design specifications.
