Experience:
Mr. Kolasch has been working in the patent field since 1960, beginning as an
Examiner in the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. After leaving the USPTO, he worked for
private patent law firms until he started his own firm with Mr. Raymond Stewart in 1971,
which became Birch, Stewart, Kolasch and Birch in 1976. Since entering private practice,
Mr. Kolasch has developed considerable experience in PTO practice, including both
prosecution and interference practice. He has also developed particular experience in
licensing matters, negotiations, trademarks, patent validity and infringement opinions and
related matters. Mr. Kolasch has lectured internationally on many occasions both in Europe
and Asia.
Over the years, Mr. Kolasch has prepared and prosecuted patent applications in
the fields of general chemistry, organic chemistry, including polymer chemistry, chemical
engineering and mechanical engineering.
