Experience
Dr. Susan Gorman is a registered patent attorney and partner at BSKB and has been working in the field of intellectual property since 1999. She became a partner in the firm in 2009.

Dr. Gorman's practice focuses on helping clients develop a proactive intellectual property strategy that drives value. Her clients include startup companies as well as mid-size and fortune 500 companies.

Practicing primarily in the fields of pharmaceuticals, biotechnology (including plant biotechnology), bioenergy, biochemistry and medical diagnostics, Dr. Gorman has obtained patent claims for clients having interests in new therapeutics and treatments, genetic engineering products and methods, organisms and processes for alternative energy production in addition to devices and techniques for disease identification. Dr. Gorman also advises clients on patentability, freedom to operate and validity and infringement issues. She has experience in appeals, reexamination, reissue and interference proceedings.

Dr. Gorman is a recurrent lecturer on intellectual property topics at the UCSD Rady School of Management and has participated as an invited speaker for Thomas Jefferson Law School as well as various law firms and companies in China and Europe.
