Experience
Dr. MaryAnne Armstrong has practiced in the intellectual property field since 1995, working with inventors and technology transfer offices, including the NIH technology transfer office, for the preparation of patent applications in the fields of immunology, pharmaceutical chemistry, biotechnology, organic chemistry, assay and drug screening systems, medical devices and plant patents. Dr. Armstrong has extensive experience in foreign prosecution in both WIPO member countries and non-member countries, and prosecution of patent applications before the USPTO, including preparations for appeals and appearances before the Board of Appeals and interference practice. Dr. Armstrong also has experience in preparation of legal opinions regarding infringement, validity and patentability, preparation of license agreements and collaboration agreements and in FDA procedures including ANDAs and acquisition Orphan Drug Protection.
Dr. Armstrong serves as the Chair-Elect of the Chemistry & the Law (CHAL) Division of the American Chemical Society (ACS).
